Co-organised by the ITUC-Asia Pacific, Japan International Labour Foundation and the OTC Labour Leadership Institute, the 14th Youth Leadership Course (YLC) aims to build the leadership capacity of young trade unionists by equipping them with the skills and knowledge on key issues faced by the labour movement, including organising and building workers' power, promoting gender equality and inclusion, addressing income inequality through income-led growth, and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals and Just Transition. The course will also include an introduction on the five demands for a new social contract, which the trade unions have been pushing for especially in the context of the pandemic recovery.
In addition, the 14th YLC will cover trade unions and industrial relations, including building effective leadership in trade unions.
A flagship programme of the ITUC-Asia Pacific that has been running for several years, the 14th YLC that aims to enhance the participants’ capacity and motivation in becoming future trade union leaders
