The International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) - Asia Pacific organised its second Mentorship Feedback Session in 2023. Held on 14 April 2023, the session aimed to give the participants a space to touch base on how their participation in the mentorship programme has helped them achieve their goals.

During the session, the participants shared their accomplishments related to women and youth concerns in the past few months, including starting their own campaigns, participating in collective bargaining agreement negotiations, and establishing their own women and youth committees. They are proud of their accomplishments, and many have harnessed their leadership potential and taken on more active roles in their organisations.

Mentees and mentors alike expressed how the programme has positively impacted their lives, and helped them grow as individuals. The programme has become a learning experience not only for the mentees but also for the mentors. While guiding the mentees, the mentors were also able to assess and expand their own capabilities, creativity, and ability to be more inclusive of others. Their mentoring journey has become a story of growing together.

The project team commended the participants for their incredible work, encouraged them to keep up the momentum, and assured them of ongoing support.

About 20 women and youth participants from ITUC-Asia Pacific affiliates in Bangladesh, Fiji, Indonesia, and the Philippines participated in the session digitally via Zoom. This programme is part of the project, WaY2GO 2.0: Active Engagement in Leadership Representation and Social Dialogues of Young and Female Trade Unionists in Southeast Asia, in collaboration with the ASEAN Trade Union Council and the DGB Bildungswerk.
