Nov 2023

ITUC-Asia Pacific, in cooperation with affiliates, is committed to fostering a safe, healthy, respectful, and welcoming working and learning environment for all people from diverse backgrounds, regardless of sex/gender, gender identity or expression, age, race, ethnicity, nationality, physical ability, religion, or other characteristics.

This aspiration is consistent with the ITUC-Asia Pacific’s desire to provide participants with the best possible experience where they feel welcomed, valued, and appreciated in all their diversity and identities.

To keep this commitment, ITUC-Asia Pacific:

  • maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy against violence and harassment, including gender-based violence and harassment in any form and under any circumstances, and commits to making all reasonable steps to prevent and eliminate it;
  • takes all allegations seriously and ensures that complaints and reports made in whatever form and through various channels are handled promptly, effectively, with sensitivity, and confidentially to the extent reasonably possible;
  • ensures that all staff members, volunteers, affiliates/members, and others, through their words, actions and behaviours, always embody the highest standards of professionalism and personal conduct; and
  • commits to open communication and transparency where all can speak about their experiences without fear of reprisal.

In line with this, the ITUC-Asia Pacific adopted a Code of Conduct for Activities for Activities, Events and Meetings to promoting a safe, healthy and respectful working and learning environment for all.
